Absolutely not! While there are plenty of juices and smoothies to incorporate, you will also be enjoying plenty of cooked meals, salads, soups, snacks and desserts that are nutritious and satisfying.
DO I HAVE TO BE A SEASONED DETOXER OR HEALTH NUT?
Absolutely not. This program is beneficial to you whether you regularly detox, or if you have never even heard of it before! My advice is to start where you are and do what you can. If you are seriously overwhelmed, let me know so we can chat about your specific concerns and come up with a plan.
WILL I BE STARVING?
Nope! We’re focusing on what you eat, not how much. While I don’t suggest you stuff yourself silly, you have the freedom to discover the right amount of food your body requires. When you're eating incredibly healthy, nutritious foods, you can eat as much as you need to feel satisfied and energized. There are recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and room for snacks in between. This program is not about starvation or deprivation, and we are not counting calories or dwelling on carbs. If you do get hungry, there are extra snack recipes included!
CAN I STILL WORK OUT DURING THE PROGRAM? Definitely! Exercising can restore strength and energy when you are feeling low. You will be eating protein, and drinking plenty of liquids, so if you’re already exercising, there’s no reason to stop! Pay attention to how you feel, and know that your body might be craving a workout on some days, but something lighter like yoga or walking on other days. It is important to remember that whenever you change the foods you eat, your body changes as well. Please consult with your doctor if you have any specific concerns about your health.
WHAT SORT OF PROTEINS WILL I BE EATING? You will have plenty of excellent plant-based proteins to choose from, and the personal option to include animal-based proteins. A full list will be included in your recipe guide.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE SUPPLEMENTS, PILLS, AND POWDERS?
Not this program! The only supplement I recommend is a probiotic, and you’ll learn why in this program. If you have supplements or powders you'd like to add in, feel free!
CAN I DO THIS IF I’M NURSING OR PREGNANT?
Yes - nutritious foods are beneficial for both mom and baby! Since this is not a rigorous detox (ie you are eating real food), it should be perfectly safe, but please consult with your doctor prior to starting this program if you have any health concerns. If you are nursing, I suggest that you add protein at lunch and dinner, boost your morning smoothie with a scoop of hemp or pea protein, and eat snacks in between meals. Make sure you are consuming extra fat and drinking enough liquids.
WILL I FEEL WEAK DURING THE PROGRAM?
Everyone responds different depending on their body and where they are starting from. It is important to listen to your body through this program, and I will be here to support you with that. Some people experience a couple days of lower energy, but it's only temporary. Overall, you are going to feel so strong and energized during this program! I will let you know exactly what can be done to reduce and minimize any unwanted detox symptoms. This program is literally designed for you to figure out what works for YOU!
I DON’T EAT GLUTEN OR DAIRY. HOW CAN THIS PROGRAM HELP ME?
Most people who already have a “clean” diet still have room to clean out the pipes with a cleanse. Giving our bodies time to rest and reset can be helpful for anyone regardless of their current eating habits. Aside from the physical benefits, a detox is also a time for increased awareness, and is a beautiful reminder to take time for self-care and rejuvenate your mind.
WHAT SIDE EFFECTS MIGHT I EXPERIENCE?
Some people go through this program and feel nothing but energized, while others may feel tired or light-headed as their bodies eliminate and let go of unnecessary toxins.
